GRASS IS GREEN + TWO INCH ASTRONAUT Bring You The "SPLIT DICKS" 7" [Pre-Order Available]

PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Distribution

When two of the East Coast’s most explosive post-punk bands come together for one record, it’s time for the world to take notice. SPLIT DICKS is that record, the limited edition split 7” from Boston’s Grass Is Green and Baltimore’s Two Inch Astronaut. Arriving September 18th through Exploding In Sound Records (pre-orders now available), the four track EP pairs the diabolical duo on wax for the first time and ready to blow more than a few unsuspecting minds. SPLIT DICKS is the second release of the year for both bands, following Grass Is Green’s magnificent and widely praised Ronson, as well as the jagged brilliance of Two Inch Astronaut’s Red Pancake and the Dark Energy. With two of the year’s finest underground releases already earning the bands a devout and ever expanding following throughout the East, the two bands got together to record SPLIT DICKS this Spring at Boston’s Basement Screams. Check out the first tastes of the record with Two Inch Astronaut’s “Greatest City In The World” and Grass Is Green’s “You’re Yawning All Over My Baby” via Bandcamp at www.twoinchastronaut.bandcamp.com and www.grassisgreen.bandcamp.com [and below]. Both tracks are available to stream/download so please feel free and spread the word.

The pairing of Grass Is Green and Two Inch Astronaut for SPLIT DICKS is no freak occurrence; the collaboration has been a long time coming. Before the two bands started their individual conquest of dynamic shape-shifting and mutating perception of indie and punk rock as we know it, members of both bands played together in Maryland’s Dogs Without Borders as well as joining forces for last year’s “Die For Your Neighborhood Tour”. The bands have remained united in their efforts to create complex and compelling post-punk that oozes with loose attitude and wildly creative chord progressions and spastic rhythms. SPLIT DICKS may cause you to lose your shit… but we totally understand.

SPLIT DICKS was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Grass Is Green’s own Michael John Thomas III (Perhaps, Badknight, Grass Is Green) at Basement Screams and produced by Michael John Thomas III, Grass Is Green, and Two Inch Astronaut. The split album will be released September 18th on vinyl and digital. Pre-orders are now available HERE or HERE.

Grass Is Green will bring their jaw dropping live intensity back on the road this Fall (including a stop in Washington, DC with Two Inch Astronaut), so be sure to see them in your town. Two Inch Astronaut have a handful of rad shows along the East coast as well (and some very excited news in the months to come).
